LIVAR OFFICE RENOVATION
Interior Design
Project team: Andrej Kregar, Kaja Vidovič, Tamara Likon
The company Livar d. d., a specialist in complex foundry products, has entered a new development phase and is investing significantly in the modernization of its production. As part of this effort, the company also chose to renovate its business premises and administrative processes. Kreatif architects were invited to design a modern new interior for the administrative building.
The diverse activities within the company, including sales, logistics, and development, intertwine in shared spaces. This required a creative approach to unite all functions into a coherent and well-balanced working environment. By carefully addressing ergonomics, calm color schemes, optimal natural and artificial lighting, sound insulation, functional workspace organization, and a comfortable indoor climate, we created a stimulating setting for all employees.
In planning the layout, we paid special attention to the division between quiet and noisy zones. Logistics, sales, and the utility program generate a higher noise level, while the facilities management and development departments require silence. To address this, we separated the spaces using glass partitions, which preserve the openness and transparency of the interior. Equal accessibility to the meeting room was also a priority. It needed to be easily reachable for employees and quickly accessible for external visitors. For departments such as logistics, sales, and the utility program, we ensured short and efficient routes between workstations.
The concept for the office design draws inspiration from the company’s own products and technology. Since both the company logo and product edges feature curved lines, we translated this into the design language through soft and rounded forms and layered structures. These forms reflect modern pre-casting methods such as 3D printing and together form the foundation of what we refer to as the foundry concept.
Natural materials and glass were selected for the business interior, complemented by neutral white surfaces. These create space for bold red metal accents, which together express the company’s visual identity. Anti-allergenic textile floor coverings were used to reduce noise transmission throughout the offices. The color palette and the company’s commitment to environmentally conscious production are further supported by a living green wall.
Special care was also given to the choice and placement of lighting. Linear ambient lighting serves as a unifying element across the entire office. These lights are installed both in the hallways and within each office zone, following the edges of the suspended ceiling and contributing to a calm and well-lit atmosphere.
